Kanyakumari which is also called Cape Comorin is located at the southernmost tip of the Indian Peninsula. It is about 130 km from Tuticorin. It is the meeting point of Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean and Arabian sea. Kanyakumari is popular for its spectacular sunrise and sunset, and also one can see the moon-rise and sunset at the same time - on either side. Kanyakumari has the temple for Kanya Devi, an avatar of Goddess Parvati, Gandhi Mandapam, Vivekanda Rock Memorial and the 133 feet statue of Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar. |
